It all began when I was a little girl. I absolutely loved baking! I loved how happy other people felt when they took their first bite of something I baked!

Fast forward to 2011, I was graduating college and didn’t know what to do with my life. I loved helping people, but didn’t know how to help. My dad cut out a newspaper article about an all special needs school in Dallas, and mailed it to my apartment in Lubbock with a note that said “Call them and get a job!” So I did. I am proud to say I am still with The Notre Dame School of Dallas 13 years later.

Throughout my career at The Notre Dame School, I have helped countless students obtain gainful employment opportunities after graduation. One day I woke up and wondered, what if I could somehow employ these incredible humans that I loved so much?

I knew wanted to combine my love of baking with bridging the gap to employment for adults with disabilities. And that’s how Happy Flour was born. I wanted it to be a safe space for adults with special needs to learn and thrive. I want them to feel the sense of accomplishment at the end of a long shift, and see the big smiles after receiving their first paycheck. I can’t wait to see where Happy Flour goes and I’m so happy you’re along for the ride!
